Log Cabin Yarns Side to Side Gloves |
Materials: worsted weight yarn about 125 grams or 120 metres size 4.5 mm needles Gauge - 20 stitches & 26 rows in stockinette Cast on 40 stitches (48 if you want a longer cuff) Knit 6 rows (3 ridges). (Pinky finger half complete) Cast off first 10 stitches; slip the stitch on the right needle to the left needle so all stitches are on one needle; turn. Cast on 15 stitches. K 6 rows. (ring finger half complete) Cast off 12 stitches; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 15 st. K 6 rows. (middle finger half complete) Cast off 15 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 13 st. K 6 rows. (index finger half complete) Cast off 21 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 8 st. K 16 rows. (thumb complete) Cast off 8 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 21 st. K 6 rows. (second half of index finger complete) Cast off 13 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 15 st. K 6 rows. (second half of middle finger complete) Cast off 15 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 12 st. K 6 rows. (second half of ring finger complete) Cast off 15 st; sl the st on the R needle to the L needle; turn. Cast on 10 st. K 6 rows. (second half of pinky complete) Cast off. Fold glove in half and whip stitch together. If there are any gaps or holes from the cast on stitches, close them up when stitching the glove together - don't fret about the holes while you're knitting the gloves! Make another one! |
