Bamboo Socks

Materials: 1 skein On Your Toes Bamboo Socks
Gauge: 28 stitches and 36 rows to 4" on size 3mm needles

Pattern stitch:
Row 1 - 5: K2, P2 across round
Row 6: * YO,K2, Pass YO over the 2 knitted stitches, P2* repeat from * to * across round
These 6 rounds form the pattern stitch

Cast on 60 stitches. Join in the round carefully, avoiding twisting the cast on row. Put 16 stitches
on needle 1, 30 on needle 2 and 14 on needle 3. Work in pattern stitch for 10 repeats of pattern or
until cuff is desired length.

Begin heel flap: Working on needles 1 and 3. (You may wish to put the heel flap stitches on one
needle, and divide the instep stitches onto two needles.)

Row 1: *Sl 1, K1* repeat from * to * across needle 1. (note - if desired, continue with the 6th row
of pattern stitch along with the S1 K1). Turn work.
Row 2: S1, purl 15 stitches from needle 1 and 14 stitches from needle 3. Turn work.
Continue as established for 30 rows . Begin turning heel.
Row 1: Sl 1, knit 19, turn
Row 2: S1, Purl 9, p2tog , Purl 1 turn
Row 3: S1, knit 8, k2 tog, k1 turn
Row 4, S1, purl 8 purl 2tog, p1, turn
Continue until all stitches have been used, ending with a purl row. (If you put all your heel stitches
on one needle, now is the time to put them back onto two needles and return the instep stitches
to one needle.)

Gusset: Knit across needle 1, pick up and knit 15 stitches along left side of flap, knit across needle
2 continuing in pattern stitch, then pick up and knit 15 stitches down right side of heel flap.

Round 1: Knit needles 1 and 3, pattern stitch on needle 2
Round 2: Needle 1: Knit until 3 stitches remain on needle, knit 2 tog , k1
Needle 2: continue in pattern
Needle 3: K1, SSk, knit to end of needle
Repeat these two rounds until you have 16 stitches on needle 1, 30 stitches on needle 2 and 14 on
needle three. 60 stitches total.

Keep on knitting in pattern established until foot of sock from measured from the back of heel is 2"
less than desired length.

Begin toe.
Round 1: Needle 1: Knit until 3 stitches remain on needle, knit 2 tog , k1
Needle 2: Knit 1, SSK, knit until 3 stitches remain on needle, knit 2 tog , k1
Needle 3: K1, SSk, knit to end of needle
Round 2: Knit all stitches.
Repeat these two rounds until 28 stitches remain, 8 on needle 1, 14 on needle 2, 6 on needle 3
Graft remaining stitches together using Kitchener stitch. Weave in ends. Now go make a matching
sock!
